Fallon was excited to see her newest cousin. She did all the normal stuff you do when you see a new baby. She smiled at him, she patted him, she poked at him, she coughed on him, she held him, she laughed at him, and played with his toys. That took all of 15 minutes...hmmm "where is Roxy?" (thats Craners' pooch) So she proceeded to find her favorite black lab and smile at her, pat her, poke her, cough on her, hug her, laugh at her, and pull her tail. It was great spending time with them.

It would be great to have the energy that Alizah and Piper have. Heck I'd take just half of it. They had swim lessons in the hot tub 4 times a day. Daily trips to" Bogger" King for chicken crowns. Chowing down to buttered popcorn while while watching "Ice Age Three" 3D, daily checks on the 4-H piggies down the canal bank, eating everything chocolate we could find, gabbing the slow rocking hammock, sleeping in late, chocolate sippie cup and baba's. Riding bikes. Playing with cousins, digging in the dirt, watching Madagascar 3 900 times, and watching daddy and pappa ride horses. Oh ya, they liked riding in grandma's fast car. Those are just a few things we did to pass the time away. How could I forget , playing with Roxy!! Aren't they just cutie pies? They much prefer Megan than grandma now days. I really have two, just so you know. I was getting sick and tired of looking at the last blog which has been there for eeever!! I'm trying to remember when the last time I wore my wig? It's been a while. I thought summer was apon us and it was going to be too hot to want to wear one. Boy was I wrong! I was getting really tired of wearing a wig, so I decided to come out of the closet and wear my own hair. It's still not all that long but it's all I've got and it is what it is. So ta da here it is. Guess the Dr.'s think I'm doing great because two weeks ago I got my port removed! Whahoo!! Much to my dismay I still get stinkin tired but I feel great. It has been a long time since I've seen him, anyway he was up visiting his dad in Idaho Falls. They wanted to drive to Burley for a visit. It was such a nice surprise. I didn't realize Scott was living in SLC. He is working at the same place Tony was working before he moved. Uncle Keith sure reminds me of dad. I'm sure he is missing his sweet wife, Dawna. She recently passed away. We had a great visit and they stayed for a roast beef dinner. It was nice to see that special little twinkle in his eyes. He still has an excellent memory of the past and he seem to enjoy talking about things. Uncle Keith has always been one of my favorite uncles, I always thought he was so cool. He still is. He is the the last surviving sibling on my dads side. I need to make it a point to go see him more often. He loves fishing and the outdoors, I asked him if he'd like to go to the cabin this summer. I think that smile meant yes. Makes me thankful for family, for uncles, for good memories, and if I try the chance of being with them again someday.

Trying to make all the tea parties

Trying to make all the right tea parties is just plain exhausting. LOL you guys were a " hoot.. that what you were!"

Beauty and the Beast

Isn't Hanna thee most beautiful enchanted rug you have ever seen? Every year the Moses Lake stake puts on a musical for the community to enjoy. This year it was "Beauty and the Beast". Megan, Jocelyn, Kortni, and myself went to support Hanna in her role in the play. The play was amazing, excellent talent, great costumes, amazing back drops, a fun evening for everyone. We snuck in chocolate chip cookies and red licorice. Kicked back and enjoyed the show.
I had to get a picture with one of the stars didn't I? I told the nurse I was sure I drained it "really good". I knew it was dry. At least I hoped it was. I even bet Mike $20 it was dry. And it was, the nurse was nice enough not to charge me for another one. I miss "camo girl" but a black cast was fun. I only had to wear it for a week. Meanwhile Jocelyn brought Fallon to Burley so her parents could watch her while "us" girls could have a fast road trip. So we made a detour to Twin to have my cast removed, before meeting Dusty in Boise.

Yikes look at that saw man!! Everyone says, "oh it doesn't hurt, it doesn't even come close to your skin." Hmm a friend was just telling me last week that when her husband got his cut off they cut his arm. Yeah...that story flashed in my brain pretty fast. I looked wicked but it came off pretty easy. I didn't get a sucker or a sticker... whatever!!

As soon as it was off I was taken to x-ray where they did three pictures of a brand new joint. No rust on the new one. Only four weeks of dead skin..... gaagrosssss! Then the nice hand doctor proceeded to bend my thumb up and down...yaoooohhh! I don't have to wear any kind of soft brace. The doctor has given me two weeks to see what "I'm made of ?" Will I exercise it or will I be forced to have therapy? You bet my little bippy I'm going to give it plenty of exercise. I didn't got through all this pain for nothin! My scar is a little bit on the "wicked" side but I'm hoping it will fade over time. Besides it's a nice accessory to my stretch marks.
I have a lot of catching up to do on my blog, so I'll be back in a couple of days.

Marsha needs more attention

Thats what someone asked me at church last Sunday when I had a group of ladies standing around me.

"What..Marsha needs more attention?"

I thought it was a little mean? Anyway, this is what I've been up to lately. Sorry if this grosses some people out. This is a week after surgery. For anyone that doesn't know I had a trapezium implant (joint replacement) done. The nurse cut off the bandage from surgery and removed the stitches. I'm still swollen and colored up good with iodine. My nails looked like I'd been eating cheetos for a month!! EEWW!

To control the throbbing you elevate the arm. Then the blood obeys the law of gravity and pools to the elbow. Cute huh? I didn't even get offered a sticker or a sucker. One of Erins' cinnamon rolls would have been good!

Then I got to pick out my cast color. I wanted pink/camo. Nope they don't have that color. Didn't like all the neon colors. Almost got red, decided to be GI Jane for four weeks. Does my thumb stick out like a "sore thumb" or what?

Thank-you Megan, Jocelyn, and Fallon for going to Twin with me. A stop at 9 Beans and a Burrito made me feel better.

Ever tried undoing the metal button on your jeans with one hand? Grrr

it's frustrating with only one hand, especially when you are right handed. I'll just be glad when the next three weeks are over. Okay no more whining.

One-Handed Crafter

I got this from Beth's blog, and thought it would be SO FUN!

Here is the deal: The first five people to comment on this post will get something made by me. I'm two trips behind, so I'll tell you a little about the first one. We wanted to support Kade and his football team. They had such a good year, they had been undefeated for so long. The state play-offs were held in Moscow, when I heard that I was excited. Now just get Mike to agree to
drive up a day before. It's been a while since I've been to Lewiston . I
didn't have to talk very hard to con-
vince Mike to go. If you read Megans blog you know they didn't win. They are still a great team. My sister Elaine went to Lewiston with me six years ago. I wanted to surprise my life long friend Mykle, at her daughters wedding. Yes I surprised her big time! Thats her in the picture. Yes I surprised her again, I know, thats not nice to do. But she was gracious anyway. It was fun driving around visiting old hang outs, checking out old houses we use to live in, showing Megan my old high school, checking out Potlach (thats where my dad worked). She thought it was stinky. Dad use to say, "smells like bread and butter to me". It is stinky but it flooded my minds with lots of good memories. My dad worked his butt off to support his family. I'll always appreciate and love my dad for that.

We also met Bran, Kort, and girls in Moscow to watch the game then they drove to Lewiston to spend the night with us. After a gag ola breakfast at I Hop we parted ways and headed home. Man I forgot how far that trip is. Brandon was only 21/2 hours away. Here is a picture of grama and the girls. And one of papa and the girls. The girls were none too happy about the pool being outside. We were lucky to get a room, everyone was booked. I was pooped by the time we got home, even after I napped half the way.

I had a yearly mamo and they found some spots they didn't like. I made a trip to Pocatello for sterotastic test. Which is a fancy word for more biopsies. I won't make you wait for a week like they did...I tested negative!! Yah for me!! We'll wait for six months and do another mamo, just to be safe. I'm feeling good, calm about everything, eating everything I can find, still tired. But "very very happy to be alive!" I have so much to be thankful for. I'm loving life and taking it one wonderful day at at a time!

Fun times with Fallon

Look who is hiding in the corner at papa and grama house. Saturday.. nothing to do, money burning in our our pockets, (well not exactly) men folk outa town. Megan and I wore our comfy shoes and made sure we took an empty suburban to load up. We only went out to unload twice before we left.. We had the chance for the early bird time but opted for an hour later. Man we almost missed some good buys! It's always a fun place to go and see all the newest things out. Smells of fresh popped kettle corn, homemade baked goods. There was a booth that had yummy loaves of bread, like sweet potato, and garlic basil. Divinity, every flavor of fudge, caramel apples, cinnamon roasted almonds,& chocolates. They also had deep fried cinnamon rolls, sounds kinda barfy to me, whatever. That was just some of the food.

Did I mention that there was a lot of people there? It started at 8:00 am and by 10:00 there was shoving room only! It was held at Minico High and is always well attended. It's a fun place to see people you haven't seen forever. We missed last years because we were with Megan and Kade when they went to the Logan Temple. Pampered Chef had some new fun items, I found a darling quilt, Christmas dresses for the granddaughters, wood items (mirrors, shelves, wreaths, & signs) jewelery, purses, & Christmas presents ideas. Lots and lots of things to look at and wish for.

Did I mention we ran into Addie and Mindy? The sky was deep blue, there were some scattered clouds. The trees are full and the leaves are still very green, fall is in the air. The days are still quite warm but evenings are crisp. I was outside walking around the flower beds thinking how I was going to miss having fresh roses with winter around the corner. I saw this beautiful rose and knew immediately it was going inside with me. I snipped it off, put it in a bud vase, set in on the piano in the front room. Little did anyone know what was lurking in the next 24 hours of weather madness!! (in all fairness the weatherman did mention a possibility of snow....BUT they're always wrong) The next morning around 6:00 am it started snowing and snowing and snowing, it snowed all day! It never let up ALL day long!

And this is what we got a monster snow day. This picture doesn't begin to show how deep and wet it was. It was like two weeks before Christmas rather than a couple weeks before Halloween. It was a good day to stay in, drink hot chocolate, and watch football, I mean movies! The snow flakes were huge and fluffy, we really needed the moisture. Church was canceled...WOW! like that almost never happens. We ended up getting about 71/2'' but others got up to 22". We had drifts 25" on the back patio.

Four days later we still have snow, none of the patio has thawed. I'm feeling for the farmers, they had hay down and plenty of potatoes to dig. It's needs to warm up before anyone gets in those muddy field any time soon. I'm just thinking be thankful for the much needed moisture. We still have some warm weather coming!! Fall is in the air.
Along with much dust and dirt, (cough cough) it's a killer for those of you who have allergies! It's interesting to watch all the harvesting going on from the front porch. It's pretty much all around us. Beets, corn, beans, potatoes, and hay crops. But this year it's been the hay that's been interesting to watch.
Mike and I have never noticed that after cutting and baling is done, the eagles show up. It's a mouse fest!! GROSS I know!! Take it up with Mother Nature.
The first time we noticed the eagles was when we were driving home. I yelled to Mike, "I swear those are eagles"...ya right he thought. So he stopped the car and backed up. They didn't even flinch, just continued to gobble up their catch. When we got home I couldn't wait to look up eagles on the computer. There they were on the computer - in all their glory golden eagles. Cool!! So then we started looking for them again. Coming back from Twin the other day on the old highway we saw six, and they were bigger than the ones we'd seen by our house. When the sun hits them just right they have a beautiful auburn color.
To see them soaring in the sky, with a huge wing span, with a backdrop of beautiful mountains, makes me so thankful for the beauty that surrounds me. And thankful for living in this free country.

Labor Day Weekend

We have been doing a lot lately so were thinking maybe we'll stay home and relax. Then we find out that Megan and Kade are going to the cabin. Dusty calls and lets us know they also are going to the cabin. Hmm maybe we'll go?? Then we find out Kade invited his sister and two daughters. Hey, now it's a party! We are going fer sure now. We head up Friday afternoon and we have passed up Poky, now IF, we have to stop and feed our faces in Rexburg. (and buy food) Can you say "Bajio" Yum Yum! We finally get there, it's beautiful and smells wonderful. Yea, were back at the cabin, we love it there! Next day it's sunny and going to be a beautiful day. But it feels a little nippy. Wanna float the river?? Um..Mike and I will pass this time But thanks for the invite! It's always nice to have Megan there becuz she is an excellent cook. If she wants to cook, I'll clean up anytime. So the next day it rains and is quite chilly. Good day to play marbles. It's always a good day when Kades' sister (Keriann) kicks his butt twice!! Marbles for those of you who don't know is an old family tradition. It's a lot like the game "Sorry" only you play with marbles on a home made board with holes. Should have taken a picture. Have you been wondering about the picture above?? It's a Matilda Moose hoof print. For real!! She came for breakfast Tuesday morning. I glanced out the kitchen window and thought I saw the back end of a red roan horse. Okay, so it was a tall one! I went to the back door and there she was staring back at me. Like I was bothering her and her munching. She hung out for about 45 minutes. First time we've had a moose come to the cabin. It was cool. I'm still learning about adding pictures. I'll try harder next time. Anyway it was nice to get away, Mike had already taken two weeks off so it was time to get back to the real world. Can't wait to go back again.

Summer nights

Ahhh, nothing better than swinging in the hammock on a cool summer night. My granddaughter Alizah was singing her little heart out when I snapped this picture. Since shes been gone I have the hammock all to myself. It was a lot more fun when we were making up songs together though.

It seems like yesterday I was staring out the front window wishing for spring. And how excited I was when the buds started showing up on the trees. Summer has justed raced by. We are losing daylight!!! I'm not ready for summer to be over! It's really cooling off at night, I had to get a jacket on to sit on the porch tonight. School started last Wednesday, whats the big hurry, isn't it soon enough to start after Labor Day weekend? Okee dokee, I got that off my chest. Guess I'll just enjoy the nice warm sun while we have it. Look forward to a beautiful fall.

Just got back from St George and seeing the Archibald family. It seemed like a long ways down but we took two days going down. Sitting for long periods of time make my feet stiff and numb. (still working on being patient about that problem) It has been a long time since I've been to St George, it's really grown! Mike told me that he was on my dime so we could go or do anything I wanted to do. Imagine how shocked he was when I only wanted to go to one store!! Oh my gosh, even I was shocked! We drove around and took a nap. I know whaa hoo!! It was a big day?!! Then we met Beth and Howard for Cade and Sierras ring ceremony. Talk about a classy place, very up scale and nice. It was wonderful to see Calleen and Rick and the whole family. We laughed and reminisced for three hours, it was heaven. I have looked forward to this day for six months. It was everything I hoped it to be!

I'm feeling great and enjoying everyday. I think I'm feeling stronger, I get tired pretty easy though. I just want to do everything! Everything in moderation is what Mike keeps telling me. Blah blah...I know he's right. I'm really looking forward to Sunday, Twin Falls temple dedication!! So exciting to have a temple so close.

I'm going to try very hard to be a better blogger in the future. I know that will make Megan and Beth happy. Hopefully my life is going to get more exciting?

NO more radiation!!!

Here I am at the cancer center in Twin Falls. I stuffed myself with a half of burger, I'll pay for that later. Thats all the celebrating I could handle so we drove home.

This has been quite a process, at times I thought it was never going to be over. But it is.. finally. I am so thankful for my Heavenly Father, for his continued presence, and blessings. I never doubted his love for me, ever! I hope I will always remember this experience of learning and not slip backwards. I hope someday I'll be able to help someone who might be going through something similar. This has certainly strengthened my testimony of prayer. Thanks to all of you who have continued to love and support me. I appreciated your prayers more than you will ever know.

Guest driver

Last Friday I had someone drop in to drive me to Twin Falls. My sister Lynne from Hamilton, Montana and her daughter Sheila from Idaho Falls dropped in for a visit. It was a gabby trip to radiation. Then on to some yummy Mexican food for lunch! Thanks Lynne, I may not have eaten much but it was double yummy the second time around. Then we had to buzz the temple to check out the progress. It's looking great can't believe the opening will be here before you know it! We sat on the porch trying to cool off before they had to head back. Guess my arm isn't quite long enough as you noticed. We first ate a yummy lunch at Johny Carino's. Then we unpacked all of Fallon's "stuff" from their car to ours. What do people with little cars do? I know thats a long way to drive for a babysitter, but not when it's Papa and Grandma! Of coarse Papa drove, and us girls sat in the back. Forty five minutes gave me plenty of time to think about if I was really up to this! I guess time would tell. Right off the bat she falls a sleep, oh what an angel. This was going to be easier than I thought, right??

It didn't take long at all, and she got used to looking at our old and ugly faces. I needed to get rid of that "hot" wig! Hmm... she didn't seem scared at all of my bald head (unlike the other kids)! Dusty told me he just weighed Fallon, and thought she was about eighteen pounds. Oh my gosh - she is strong!!! Beings that I'm a major weakling now and I had to hang on tight. When my kids were little I could hold them and multi-task. The next two days were going to be all about holding little Fallon.

Heres a picture of us outside in the front yard. Except for plucking a few wild hairs of our eye brows or maybe we have one too many hairs on our upper lip?? I have come to realize what a blessing they are. Those hairy little eye brows help define our faces. And more important they help keep the shampoo out of our eyes. They really do help detour that stream of water. Try as you might, squeeze as hard as you can, and still without those cute little eyelashes, it's an open door. Burning shampoo, dust, or pollen is "comin on in". I know...we could save money on expensive mascara and eye liner. Heavens knows the money I have saved on individual eyelashes and glue. AND did you all know that there is an eyelash fairy?? I will swear to that on a stack of BK of Mormons!! I know this because I check a half of dozen times a day to see if I have one more eyelash. They DO NOT grow in slowly, they appear the next day full grown. I'm thinking I need to be leaving money under my pillow every night. So lets hear it for the hair on our faces, in the vicinity of our eyes!! OK, maybe not so much for the ones that creep on our chins.

I am feeling much better these days, trying to exercise a little bit more every day. I think Fallon is way stronger than me. (she is five months old) One day at a time. I still have no schedule as far a my radiation, I know that I need 33 of them. I'd like to get going so I can be done with this all. Everyone keep up the fun blogs, I love reading them all.

Camie's Card

Here's the card that goes with the post below. Sadly, today the cold front has reached us and will stay for the next four days. Beth called today and told me that it was 90* in Vegas. I'm so jealous! But I'll be grateful for whatever warm weather we get. It won't be the first time we have one cold day, and summer the next.

Last week has been a good one for me, I've been feeling stronger, and I went out a few times! I went to Twin Falls with Mike, Megan, and Kade. We were treated to dinner at Outback and entertainment on the way down. The food was wonderful and tasty, entertainment was scary! We followed a highway patrolman from Burley to Twin. (Mike never drove soo slow.. 78mph) Any who, we are about to take the exit to Twin when we notice the cop flip on his lights. There is a milk tanker driving like a bat out of (you know what). He is not slowing down - even on the curve. He appears to be gunning it right when he needs to be stopping at a stop light. We are all thinking, "OH MY GOSH!" what is he thinking! There are two small cars in front of us he could hit, the opposite traffic light is green, or he could just blow back unto the freeway. Either way would end up a tragic choice. So he's at the intersection, he swings left and then a hard right. It all seem to take place in slow motion, but here comes the double tankers wheels off the ground, and then the cab slams down hard on two men in a pick-up pulling a trailer. Not really sure how those guys made it out so fast, but thankfully they did. Then came the load of milk. Milk shakes for everyone!! Turns out a fifty year old woman from Rupert was driving drunk. It was a "miracle that no one was killed. It was hard not to replay that in you're mind - to think how close peoples lives could have been changed forever. Drunk drivers, they make me crazy!!

I also had something so nice come in the mail. My niece Camie Whittle, from Ferron, UT sent me the sweetest card. She had a school assignment to make a greeting card, so she made one for me. (She got an A by the way!) It was full of pictures, memories of the past, stories in rhyme's, sweet as could be. It made me cry, it was so thoughtful Camie. Thank-you. Okay I just tried to copy it and put a picture of it, and flubbed it up. Megan is going to have to give me another lesson.

Kudos to Sarah for being super-mom! Last Saturday's story totally wore me out just reading it. More power to you. Now it's time for a long rest! You earned it. By the way, congrats to you and Tyler, he's a real cutie.

Thank-you all for you're love and continued support. I feel it everyday.

Shock

I know "shock" Marsha is posting! Besides going to the hospital today and getting an nasty stick in the chest, it's been a pretty good day. (of coarse tomorrow is kemo) Thats the way it works. I got out of the house, not sure if I should have been driving? Mike took me to get a hamburger at the Frost-Top in Paul. Jerolyn can't understand why thats not on your list of eatery places? Yum they are good, plenty of mustard! The cleaning ladies came today, were just leaving as I was getting home. They even unloaded groceries for me. I had leftovers for Mike for dinner. (most of the time I starve him) Megan added pictures to my blog. (I'm a slow learner) I swear I don't know how you guys put all the neat stuff onto your blogs. And then to top things off, there was a new CSI! (even if it was soo sad) Well, I need to go to bed. We have to leave at 7:30 tomorrow. (I know Beth, you leave earlier than that, but I'm spoiled now!) Thanks Kort for posting lots of new pictures of the kids.

Boring

That has been my life, if I had all the cute stuff going on in everyones life I would have posted. Not to say I haven't loved peeking into everyone else lives. Rolly pollys made me smile. Granted the weekend of the30th was fun. All three of my kids were here for little Fallons blessing. She was a doll by the way. Made her opinions be known through the blessing. The Bishop told the crowd she had officially given her first 21/2 minute talk. Thankful for Megan, she stepped up to the plate intertaining and cooking. Then one by one people starting getting sick. Piper came sick (but continued to get worse everyday) then Alizah, Kade,Brandon, and Fallon. Take your pick fever, snotty gunky noses, throwing up, body ache, sleep deprived, and crying. Kortni, Hanna, Megan, were getting over feeling yucky. I'm like, "Where is the lysol!!" But apparently I've got alot of blessings coming my way, So I'm GOOD!!! After everyone left it's been very quiet. I've been well, just tired 24/7. My ankles have turned to cankels, so it forces me down even more! Oh yeah, I gained a pound, something must have tasted good. So stay tuned somethings bound to happen thats exciting. Maybe it will warm up and a few flies will come back to life! Don't worry I'm not down, it is what it is.

looking for advise

Hello all my scrapping friends, hopefully Sarah and Erin . Plus clean sheets and blankets. I'm feeling spoiled today. I'm glad I've been journaling so when I have nothing to do but complain, I'll remember this day. I feel blessed to have my family, and many dear friends. Thanks Kade for sharing Megan every Wednesday at 8:00 pm, Mike justed didn't appreciate "Project Runway". This is one of my wigs, short n sassy. I'm usually too tired to be very sassy.
Hope everyone had a nice Valentines Day. Man you tell when you're old, when you are out to catch the early special. And you are out by 5:15!! And then to see the 15 feet of snow at Pomerell.
Sarah and Erin, I did covet you're trip to LA to see wicked. You sounded like you had a blast. You both have such good husbands, hope you know how blessed you are?!
I know you all know I have a great daughter, she is the best.(and Kade) But I have to say my boys have been so good to me too. They are on the phone every couple days checking up on me. It's been great to at least get extra long hugs from Dusty. But I haven't seen Brandon since the 3rd of November. We are working on that. Just wanted to let my kids know what a blessing they are in my life. That I love them a lot.
Mike went in for his stress test today, and his heart is doing great! I already knew he had a great heart. Just have to work on his lowering his high blood pressure. I think 24 hrs. in the ICU scared him, time to cut way back on the caffeine.

Shout Out to BFF

Hey, just wanted to give a "HUGE" shout out to my wonderful friend Fab2! I got my beautiful pink blankie. Just in time for me to take with me to Twin on Friday. It's time for my 2nd treatment on Friday, now you can go with me. Last time I slept most of the time. Hope you don't mind. The staff gave me a pretty red quilt, but it wasn't flannel. (they are my favorite) Thank-you for being the great supportive friend that I've needed. I love you.

Who Has The Best Mohawk?

After a couple of days of my hair falling out in clumps, I decided to go GI Jane and shave it all OFF!
