Marsha needs more attention

Thats what someone asked me at church last Sunday when I had a group of ladies standing around me.

"What..Marsha needs more attention?"

I thought it was a little mean? Anyway, this is what I've been up to lately. Sorry if this grosses some people out. This is a week after surgery. For anyone that doesn't know I had a trapezium implant (joint replacement) done. The nurse cut off the bandage from surgery and removed the stitches. I'm still swollen and colored up good with iodine. My nails looked like I'd been eating cheetos for a month!! EEWW!

To control the throbbing you elevate the arm. Then the blood obeys the law of gravity and pools to the elbow. Cute huh? I didn't even get offered a sticker or a sucker. One of Erins' cinnamon rolls would have been good!

Then I got to pick out my cast color. I wanted pink/camo. Nope they don't have that color. Didn't like all the neon colors. Almost got red, decided to be GI Jane for four weeks. Does my thumb stick out like a "sore thumb" or what?

Thank-you Megan, Jocelyn, and Fallon for going to Twin with me. A stop at 9 Beans and a Burrito made me feel better.

Ever tried undoing the metal button on your jeans with one hand? Grrr
it's frustrating with only one hand, especially when you are right handed. I'll just be glad when the next three weeks are over. Okay no more whining.

One-Handed Crafter

I got this from Beth's blog, and thought it would be SO FUN!

Here is the deal: The first five people to comment on this post will get something made by me. My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
2- What I make will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be photography, I may sew or stitch or bake something. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
5- I reserve the right to do whatever I want!

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your own blog and offer the same deal to 5 of your own lucky blog readers.

So, the first 5 people to leave a comment telling me they are in, win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it.

My Newest Owie

No means "Don't cut here!"

Underneath the bandage says, "Yes!"

I didn't want them cutting on the wrong hand!

I had surgery last Wednesday, March 11 to replace a joint in my thumb. I thought it was going to be a cinch. It turned into a big OWIE!

By the way - I'm not typing! My lovely and wonderful daughter is transcribing for me!) I can barely move the mouse on my new computer, which I love. I will blog about that later.

I have lots to catch up on. When my hand stops throbbing, I will get to that.

Alizah, you ARE brave! Grandma didn't know how brave you were, until I had to have a cast on my hand. How did you learn how to zip up your pants?!

I get a hard cast on this Thursday. What color should I get? I want camouflage in fluorescent colors - but I don't think they make it.

No more surgery for me this year!

Lewiston trip

It's been a while since I've been on the ole blog. I'm two trips behind, so I'll tell you a little about the first one. We wanted to support Kade and his football team. They had such a good year, they had been undefeated for so long. The state play-offs were held in Moscow, when I heard that I was excited. Now just get Mike to agree to
drive up a day before. It's been a while since I've been to Lewiston . I
didn't have to talk very hard to con-
vince Mike to go. If you read Megans blog you know they didn't win. They are still a great team. My sister Elaine went to Lewiston with me six years ago. I wanted to surprise my life long friend Mykle, at her daughters wedding. Yes I surprised her big time! Thats her in the picture. Yes I surprised her again, I know, thats not nice to do. But she was gracious anyway. It was fun driving around visiting old hang outs, checking out old houses we use to live in, showing Megan my old high school, checking out Potlach (thats where my dad worked). She thought it was stinky. Dad use to say, "smells like bread and butter to me". It is stinky but it flooded my minds with lots of good memories. My dad worked his butt off to support his family. I'll always appreciate and love my dad for that.

We also met Bran, Kort, and girls in Moscow to watch the game then they drove to Lewiston to spend the night with us. After a gag ola breakfast at I Hop we parted ways and headed home. Man I forgot how far that trip is. Brandon was only 21/2 hours away. Here is a picture of grama and the girls. And one of papa and the girls. The girls were none too happy about the pool being outside. We were lucky to get a room, everyone was booked. I was pooped by the time we got home, even after I napped half the way.

I had a yearly mamo and they found some spots they didn't like. I made a trip to Pocatello for sterotastic test. Which is a fancy word for more biopsies. I won't make you wait for a week like they did...I tested negative!! Yah for me!! We'll wait for six months and do another mamo, just to be safe. I'm feeling good, calm about everything, eating everything I can find, still tired. But "very very happy to be alive!" I have so much to be thankful for. I'm loving life and taking it one wonderful day at at a time!

Fun times with Fallon

Look who is hiding in the corner at papa and grama house. Fallon reads the newspaper daily, did I mention shredding? She is excellent at that too.
Fallons' mommy and daddy went on a fun family adventure with Joces' family. Sounds like they all had a wonderful time. We were lucky enough to get to watch her for a week. She is such a good baby. She wakes up with a smile and happily sings till someone comes to get her. Good little eater, takes naps, loves bath time, keeps herself entertained, sleeps through the night and has no idea she is a "little princess".
Fallon even got to see her great-grama Bowen.
Couldn't believe how fast a week flies by. And mommy and daddy are back to take her home. No fair we don't get enough time together. I know Dust and Joce were happy to see their little cutie pie.
Blessings come in many different ways, we count our granddaughters as ones of our greatest. We have four beautiful granddaughters, unique in their own special way. I hope I can always keep up with them.

Halloween weekend

Brandon, Kortni, and girls were up for a baptism on Korts side of the family so we got to spend sometime with them too. We always have to spend sometime in the spa no matter the weather. And it was a nippy weekend for sure! So here we have posing...Grama, Piper, Hanna, Alizah, and Megan. The kids found Barbie life jackets so we wore them.
Here are the girls posing in their new dresses. Aren't they growing up so fast! Grama didn't even get Halloween pictures of the girls this year. They traveled all day to get to Burley, they were out the door licketey split to trick or treat for a short time. Hope you got some mom. I hate living so far from my grand daughters

Craft Fair

Craft fair.. did someone say craft fair? Saturday.. nothing to do, money burning in our our pockets, (well not exactly) men folk outa town. Megan and I wore our comfy shoes and made sure we took an empty suburban to load up. We only went out to unload twice before we left.. We had the chance for the early bird time but opted for an hour later. Man we almost missed some good buys! It's always a fun place to go and see all the newest things out. Smells of fresh popped kettle corn, homemade baked goods. There was a booth that had yummy loaves of bread, like sweet potato, and garlic basil. Divinity, every flavor of fudge, caramel apples, cinnamon roasted almonds,& chocolates. They also had deep fried cinnamon rolls, sounds kinda barfy to me, whatever. That was just some of the food.
Did I mention that there was a lot of people there? It started at 8:00 am and by 10:00 there was shoving room only! It was held at Minico High and is always well attended. It's a fun place to see people you haven't seen forever. We missed last years because we were with Megan and Kade when they went to the Logan Temple. Pampered Chef had some new fun items, I found a darling quilt, Christmas dresses for the granddaughters, wood items (mirrors, shelves, wreaths, & signs) jewelery, purses, & Christmas presents ideas. Lots and lots of things to look at and wish for.
Did I mention we ran into Addie and Mindy? Wow see all those fun things to put around cute little baby heads. One of the neatest places we shopped at has a store in Rigby. We'll be making a run to Rigby before Christmas I'll bet. I'm beat, it'll be to bed early tonight
